Overview
Fitted bedroom furniture for a client’s apartment in Wimbledon.
Designed, made and spray-finished in our workshop, then fitted on site in just two days.
Construction and finish
- Square in-frame shaker, made from solid ash
- Sprayed white, with the ash grain showing through the paint
- Lacquered oak-veneered carcasses
- Solid oak dovetailed drawers on soft-close runners
- Decorative mouldings at the top and bottom
Layout
- Tall cupboard on the left, with the bed alongside
- Bridging unit spanning the full width of the room to make the most of the space above the bed
Lighting
- LED spotlights under the bridging unit, shining down onto the bed
- Niche built into the tall cabinet as a bedside, with a touch switch: tap for on/off, hold to dim for reading or background light
Custom oak slat wall
- Oak-veneered backboard sprayed black, with solid oak strips over it
- Strips set out to fill the space evenly from left to right, with no thin slivers at the ends
