Most kitchen fitters in Hastings install cabinets somebody else manufactured. We design, build, spray and fit our own, which removes the gap where most kitchen projects go wrong: the point where the person who drew it hands over to the person who has to make it fit.
Everything is made in our workshop in Pevensey and installed by the same team, so if a wall turns out to be three centimetres off between the survey and installation day, it gets solved properly rather than covered with a filler strip.
Hastings and St Leonards have some of the most characterful and least cooperative houses in Sussex. The tall Victorian and Regency properties around the Old Town, Clive Vale and Warrior Square were built long before standard cabinet dimensions existed, with sloping floors, chimney breasts in awkward places and ceilings that change height across a single room. A handmade kitchen absorbs all of that.

Doors set within a solid framework, built the traditional way. Suits the period houses around the Old Town and Clive Vale, and made to last decades rather than years.
Shaker & painted kitchens
Clean lines, hand-sprayed in any colour you like, with solid carcasses and proper drawer boxes. The most requested style across Hastings and St Leonards.
Islands, pantries & utilities
Islands, larder cupboards, utility rooms and boot rooms designed into the kitchen from the start, which matters in narrow Victorian layouts where every centimetre counts.
Materials
Worktops, timbers and finishes
Everything is specified with you at the design stage, and we will happily bring samples to your Hastings home so you can see finishes in your own light rather than under showroom spotlights.
Worktops
Quartz, granite, solid timber, Corian and laminate, templated and fitted by specialists we have used for years. We will talk you through how each one behaves in daily use, including the ones we would steer you away from.
Timbers & carcasses
Solid tulipwood and oak for doors and frames, with strong moisture-resistant carcasses rather than thin chipboard. Drawer boxes are dovetailed and run on soft-close runners as standard.
Paint & finishes
Hand-sprayed in our own spray booth in any colour, including Farrow & Ball and Little Greene matches. A properly cured sprayed finish is far tougher than a brushed or wrapped one and can be refreshed years later.

Bespoke, flat-pack or showroom: what you actually get

Flat-pack & trade
Standard cabinet sizes in fixed increments, so any gap gets filled with a blank panel. Cheapest option, quickest to fit, and typically looks tired within a decade as fronts and edging start to lift.
Showroom brands
Better fronts and a designer to help you plan, but you are still working to a fixed range of sizes, and the fitting is usually subcontracted to a team that had no part in the design.

Do you cover Hastings and St Leonards?
Yes, both, along with Ore, Clive Vale, Silverhill, Hollington and out towards Battle and Bexhill. Our workshop is in Pevensey, around fifteen miles away, which keeps us close enough to be on site quickly during installation.
How much does a fitter charge to fit a kitchen in Hastings?
We are not a fitting-only service, so it is not quite a like-for-like comparison with an independent fitter. Our price covers design, cabinetry built in our own workshop, hand-spraying and installation by the same team. Because every kitchen is made to measure there is no fixed rate, so we do a free design visit and give you a clear itemised quote with no obligation. If you already have units and only need them installed, an independent kitchen fitter will be the cheaper route.
How long does a kitchen take from start to finish?
Roughly ten to fourteen weeks from design approval to completion, of which six to eight weeks is build time in the workshop. Installation on site usually takes one to two weeks depending on the size of the kitchen.
Can you work in a narrow Victorian terrace?
Yes, and a good deal of our Hastings work is exactly that. Narrow galley layouts, chimney breasts, sloping floors and tight access are all normal here. Because we build to measure, we can use the full height and every awkward recess instead of losing space to standard cabinet sizes.
Do you make the kitchens yourselves?
Every carcass, door and drawer is built and hand-sprayed in our Pevensey workshop, and fitted by the same team. Nothing is subcontracted and nothing is bought in flat-pack, which is the main difference between us and most kitchen companies covering Hastings.
Do you only make kitchens?
No. We also make fitted wardrobes, alcove units, media walls, home offices and larder cupboards, all from the same workshop. Many Hastings clients start with the kitchen and come back for the rest of the house.
